Selecting the Right Plan for You
When first deciding what coverage is best for you, consider whether “original” Medicare (Parts A and B) or Medicare Advantage (Part C) coverage better meets your needs. This will be based on your health, providers, budget, medications, zip code, and ultimately what you want out of your plan. The choices and features can be overwhelming. This chart gives you an overview . . . we can help guide you through the process.
There are two different options you can take for Medicare: Original/Traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans.
Original Medicare will consist of Part A (Hospital), Part B (Medical) then you can purchase one of 11 different Supplement plans (Medigap), and Part D (Prescription Drug Plans).
Medicare Advantage plans still require both Part A and B of Medicare but you assign these over to an insurance company that provides coverage for both your hospital and medical care, and most also include prescription drug coverage.
